replace/clean your proximity switch.
The best way to learn is trial error.
I believe you can "ignore" the soft overtravels if you power up the control while holding the P and CAN keys. Hold them untiil the control is fully powered up.
It is possible to hit the hard stops if you aren't careful when homing the machine.
I've tried the P-Can trick but that didn't work.
So, now I need to find the proximity switch....I'll report back.
Thx guys!
On the 15LMS it does not use prow switches for overtravel, it uses limit switches. If P/CAN doesn't reset the pulse coders, then you are probably hitting the switch. This is what you need to do. 1st home the machine. Next go around back and look for the switches(they are about 2 inches long and have little rollers on them) and see if the dog is hitting the switch. If you are not sure witch one is the overtravel, then you can push them manualy and see witch one gives the alarm before performing test. One switch is for the e-stop and will turn off the servos and hydraulics, so if you press that one you will have to hit standby again. If it is hitting the switch you can move the switch up a little however this isn't correct way to do it. best is to call a service engineer like myself in to fix you all up. You will probably find that the X0 is no longer center line with chuck. Good luck!
