Some where I saw a reference to a video on how to replace the spindle bearings on an X2 but now I cannot find it again. I believe the video used to be sold by LittleMachineShop but it is not listed anymore. I was hoping I could contact the person who made the video to get a copy.

Please help if you know what I am talking about.

I didnt find a video, but if you got the Little machine shops site and look under,


Kits-Conversion-R8 Spindle for X2- Criss Tips- Then Instruction ( a link to a PDF). It gives detailed instructions on how to change the spindle. It also show how to make simple cheap tools to do all the pressing & removing of the bearings ( out of PCV pipe and other hardware store peices).

Thank you Jess, this has the essentials of what I was looking for. I think I found the video, it was made by SwarfRat. But now I don't need to buy the video. My problem is solved.

For future ref,there is a video on you tube(supplied) where a bloke is doing the bearing change on a mini-lathe,the headstock on the lathe is exactly the same as that on the X3 mill.
Different spindle but the process is the same.
