    Y-Axis conversion

Well it is underway.... I have decided to add onto the X2 by extending the Y-Axis. I will be adding on another X2 Base giving me around 10-12" on my Y-Axis. I just got done grinding on the base and now my nose is full of dust. I have to make a plate to mount everything on and then to align everything. Not much more to do. Last main piece to make will be to extend the head out.

Looking good! Nice work! Do you want to match up the colors?

I think this is the first time I've seen someone actually use hoss's extension idea. I always see people talking about it and never actually seen it done.

    Looks good.

Thanks for the color chart. It is going well I think. I have wanted to add on for some time now. I should have it finished in a week. I am using Hoss's idea but I will make a few changes as to how I tie the 2 bases together. After i finish this I will have to do the X-Axis. I already have the Z-axis column to do this and have already milled down the dovetails.

Nice, steppers sound like they need tuned a little. What are you planning on doing for a head spacer?

Yeah the steppers are not tuned right now. They are set on 1/4 step and ill be changing that to 1/8. For the head I will just be milling an extension out of a 7075 aluminum block.
