Z Axis woes
Interesting that COA website states 200InchesPerMinute for X and Y but nothing for Z?
I am shocked at the 200IPM ! This seems in-feasibly fast. Does anyone have video of an RF45 mill moving at that speed?
Anyway... 3000 mm per minute turned out to be a bit quick for my Z axis motor, I suspect it was quite warm already, I have a 24K RPM spindle strapped to the side of the head and made some adjustments to code I was running, the first time this new code hit the Z axis with a lift... it lifted no more. What speed is recommended for Z axis lift?
rotating the Z ball screw by hand reminded me I need to revisit the idea of a counter balance, any pointers to successful counter balance implementations appreciated.
Thanks,
Jon
