    Smile ZL-15 parameter dump?

Does anyone have a parameter listing for a Mori ZL-15?
A parameter list as what comes with machine would be acceptable.
I bought this lathe without parameter list and G68/G69 is not functional.
The Fanuc book says that is an option. Personally, I can't imagine
a twin turret lathe not having the ability to mirror image turrets for
"balanced turning mode" G68=on G69=off. I think at one time
this lathe lost all parameters and was restored using a list from
another machine. This machine does not have a backup parm list.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Re: ZL-15 parameter dump?

I worked 3 Mori ZL's for 15 years and wrote thousands of balance cut programs. None of the machines had G68/G69. Even if it did it would never have been used because the function is obsolete. It's a left-over from the 80s where a cross slide had 2 fixed turrets and the bed was flat/horizontal, not slanted.
mirror image in that case means the program reverses X and does the work with the other turret. not also using the other turret. it's one turret or the other, never both. Mirror image was rarely used back then and never used now because CAM software is 1000% more efficient at writing the program exactly the way any programmer wants to do the job so hacks like mirror image aren't needed.
ZL TT's are a totally different thing.
plus, if you want the other turret on a TT machine to do something that the other turret was doing (meaning you want it to act like a mirror image) you simply put the program or some part of it in the other head, since ZL TT runs 2 programs simultaneously.
The key to programming a TT is to write the code all long hand (no cycles) and synchronize via M codes. On Mori ZLs that means any M code from M100 and upwards to M999

if you want to write proper twin turret balance cut programs use FAPT which is built into the machine with the Balance Cut option.
It writes all the programs with long hand simple G code (G0/G1/G2/G3) and auto-syncs the cutting. It's so much more efficient.... in the hands of someone who knows how to use it ;-)

as for parameters being used from another machine, that's highly unlikely. most machines have a custom set of parameters made to order. if your machine is working 100% you should accept what you have and make a backup so that you dont end up coming back here asking for a backup from someone who has the same machine to get it working again. if you look around you will see thousands of posts like that and almost all of them go unanswered.
