3-axis CNC router design from MIT (w/Equations!)

For those of us who want to know why it still won't work...
    http://www.mit.edu/people/asprunt/po.../sb-thesis.pdf

Alexander D. Sprunt submitted his study of a 3D CNC router design variations for a Bachelor's degree at MIT in 2000.

For those looking for equations. I find the vacuum one interesting.

It is a interesting design but did this guy actually build a working model? I didn't see a picture.

*Most* (not all) Engineers don't build things, they draw them.

Is that why plans are sometimes called 'Blue hints' instead of 'Blueprints'? :devious:

You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

    Old post...

That link is from mid 2004, and has probably been moved or deleted since then. Google the document name and see if you find it.
