    4th axis problems

I have a Quaser MV184 E with a 4th axis chuck. I have tried to machine a cube from a round bar, but, I get 2 diffrent measurments around the cube. I have tried to recalibrate our tool, remeasure our workoffset for the 4th axis and now I dont know what to do. I havent had much experince with a 4th axis before so im kinda new to that area. How do we get this from not happening or do anyone know the best way to set the workoffset for a 4th axis that goes thru the X axis?

    Re: 4th axis problems

Are you talking about a rotary axis parallel to X? Mine is set up that way, and I set the zero point for Y and Z at the center of rotation, and X as far to the left as possible. Touching off to a precision-ground cylinder with a known diameter helps to figure out the correct offsets.
