3 digit error codes pertain to the drive, whereas 4 digit error codes are control related. E504 is a wrong parameter in sercos phase 2. Best way to resolve this si to connect the drive via RS232 to a PC and run WinDDS and use the spy feature as it will tell you which parameters of the drives are set wrong.

The ability to update your drives to 6.25 is dependent upon the hardware level of the vecon board. You should be able to find "VEC" on the drive label and it may or may not have a number next to it as well (there are no 3 generations of the vecon board vec, vec2 and vec3).

consult this manual, http://www.fagorautomation.com/downl...n_dds_hard.pdf and go to section 13.4 to see if your hardware will work.

    Hello sir
thank you very much for helping me but i have some of questions and difficulties :
1- the spindle drive has different version (v5.11) but the x&z drives have (v3.13) such as origin version of machine , is that may cause a problem?
    2-Machine vecon board is VEC 06A .
3-by use spy feature in windds shows that wrong parameter in SERCOS stage 2 : S16 but i could not find it in parameters list.
4-there are 2 parameters (GP7,GP8) are not exist in the machine although i gave them valuse in windds so saved in the flash memory.

could you help me to exceed these problems ,please?

v5.11 is backwards compatible with previous versions, so no there should be no issues with your existing set up there. As to upgrading, you wont be able to get the drives with the first generation vecon board up to the new software because it only supports to like v4 or something like that. the one with v5.11 should have a vecon 2 board in it, which could take the new software, but you shouldnt update that one unless you replace your other drives with newer models that can support the new software.

Hmmmm never seen that error message within WinDDS... perhaps contact Fagor for help with that one.

And you wont find any old versions of WinDDS on fagor's website, they only keep the newest version which should be 6.25. It'll contain the majority of software version files from the past (they're the modulos.cfg files)

I think your error within WinDDS is a result of software/hardware incompatibilities. The first generation vecon board can only accept versions 3.xx and 4.xx software. The second generation vecon (vec2) can accept versions 5.xx and 6.xx. so if you have a drive with 5.11, you cannot downgrade it to 4.10.
But again, as I have said before 5.11 is compatible with version 3.xx and 4.xx software, this is information I got directly from fagor in the past

    hello sir
as you can see in the pictures the vecon board of the spindle drive is the first so I have some of question please :
    1. if the current version of the spindle drive is V5.10 ,is that mean the vecon board must be
(vec2) or may be (vec) but accept V5.10 so accompanying that software problems.
2.are there a probability of exchanging the vecon board because the drive was sent to one of fagor automation branch at last .

    thank you very much

I've always known it to be the way like I said. Furthermore I've always seen version 5 software on the vec2.

I'm sure your local Fagor can do something to help. The USA subsidiary does a exchange program on replacement drives and makes them backwards compatible by changing the vecon and loading 5.11
