I'm building a hotwire foam cutter and have made some "poor man's" linear guides out of cold-rolled steel, beveled both edges 90 degrees and will be running some of those Bishop Wisecarver-tylpe v-bearings on them.
But I need some bushings to hold the guides a little off my 80/20 T-slot so the bearings will clear, They only need to be 1/4" thick at most and I was thinking of using some kind of durable sheet-plastic which I could cut the bushings from on my CNC router. Would ABS be good? What do you recommend? Thanks!
