    cnc junior (cnc masters)

    hello
this is my first question on this site, i hope someone might be able to help?
I have a cnc jnr made by cnc masters, i bought this second hand a year ago.
Thus far i have been very pleased with it , using it for die making and profiling for silversmithing.
Unfortunately the z axis has stopped working.I have investigated the controller, each axis is driven by a gecko driver which is protected by a 5 amp 125volt fuse, the z axis fuse is blown.this fuse keeps blowing if replaced, indicating a short?I have established that the gecko drive seems fine by swopping the z axis gecko for the x axis gecko, and the x axis still moves fine. Also by plugging the z axis stepper motor into the y axis driver ,the z axis moves so i think the motor is fine.there are no obvious burned out components on the driver board, serial interface board or power supply board.
So i am at a loss to see what could be wrong.
I have emailed cnc masters, but as it is the weekend have not had a reply as yet.

has any body had similar problems/experience that may help

    kind regards paul

Did you ever find your problem. I have a Cnc Jr and every issue that i have had has been operator error. I did have one limit safety switch stick on me but a easy fix. Its been a great machine for me.
