    Nice work.

I have a couple of short questions.

    1. Your controller does not need Mach 3, but can Mach3 be used with your controller anyway.

    2. Will your controller work with Geckodrives?

    Bill

No. At this moment controller does not work well with Mach3. You can download, install and test evaluation version of my software.

    Yes, it works with Geckodrives.

    Hi Kroko,
I have been using Mach3 and am tired of trying to keep old DOS windows system running. Newer windows less than happy with it.

I considered trying to devise my own PIC based USB buffered solution a few years back, but now I am happy to see youve already undertaken both the hard and software task.

I am interested in both your board and in the Probotix board which seems to have a more comprehensive connector breakout than yours but otherwise, pretty much the same specs.

They claim their board should be used with your software and show a US link for purchase of both.

Are you supplying your windows program to them and is their board hard and firmware compatible with yours.

I am in the US and would prefer US support, but you are clearly the originator and probably sole developer of this system and I would like to know your recommendation.

Ive tested your eval version of your software and am very impressed. .NET and Direct 3D are daunting to say the least. I did some rudimentary game engine work and know it isn't easy.

    Great Job!

    Thank You, Gary McCray

    Hi

Probotix makes boards with my permission. Board has screw terminals. Pinout on headers is also different and compatible with other Probotix boards. You should choose any board you want. They both use same software and firmware.

    Best regards

I've made new 9 axis, 100kHz CNC USB Controller Mk2.

Right now I'm programming support for MPG pendant which could be used to run machine manualy without PC.
I also plan to make support for SD card which will allow to run programs (g-code) without PC.

I adjusted couple of things in software and now it runs on Linux. I used Ubuntu 8.10, VMware player 3.0 with WindowsXP installed. There is no 3d graphics but controller runs without problems.

I've made 3 videos demonstrating some of new features of Planet CNC USB Controller Mk2

Demonstration of using MPG pendant with controller without PC.
    [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKxlxxc38v8"]YouTube - ‪CNC USB Controller Mk2 - MPG pendant‬‏[/nomedia]

Demonstration of using transformation matrix. Workpiece is not positioned correctly. Tool sensor is used to measure actual workpiece position. This data is used to calculate transformation which maps g-code to workpiece correctly.
    [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9nTdEEFgyA"]YouTube - ‪CNC USB Controller Mk2 - Transformation matrix‬‏[/nomedia]

Demonstration of using camera as tool sensor. Three known points are captured and used to calculate transformation. NC Drill (Excellon) file is used to drill holes into PBC. Because of transformation holes are exactly where they should be.

    Hello,

    Nice and impressive work.

As your board works with Step/Dir to control drivers, is there any chance to control Servo motor Step/Dir drivers?

    Thanks,

    MLB

    Thank you

Controllers work with servo motor step/dir drivers. I will use servos on my new machine.

    HI Kroko,

I have very little experience with cnc so I have a question , will your controller and software run g-codes for a lathe . I am especialy interested in threading.

Controller will run G-code for lathes but current version is not optimized for lathe -
RPM sensor is not supported and G95 (units per revolution) will not work. This is important for threading.

This is motion controller, not motor driver.

There would be some outputs? How many mA can they drive? Or are they relays?
