Cutting circles sounds like a siren?

I have the X and Y axis running on my X2 conversion (Keling motors). Never having been around CNC before, I have no idea if this is normal or not but when I am cutting circles, it sort of sounds like a siren (Woooooo-Wooooo-Woooooo) as the table is moving around in a circular pattern. Are motors generally noisy or are they supposed to be quiet?

This is normal. The steppers can make music too.

Here is a link to a scanner (which uses stepper motors) to make music.
