Engraving small letters on Anodised Aluminum

    Hey

Engraving 3mm letters on some anodised aluminium and its coming with the slightest of burs on the odd letter, got a sharp cutter so can't be that! Any ideas?

    Nope, can't be the cutter!

What tye of cutter are you using? How big? Speed and feed?

I normally get good results with a 2 flute ball mill cutting 1/2 diameter deep.
For 3mm tall letters you might want a 0.5mm cutter or so? I'd run it .25mm deep to start.

    Hello Matt

Carbide cutter @ 0.1mm. I have a reverse spiral fill on the font at a decent overlay.

im at 16000 RPM and at about a 30% speed. 100% being for plastic use.
