    Excitech 1212 plunge rate

I'm using VCarve files on a 1212 and don't seem to be able to adjust the plunge rate, anyone know if there is a minimum rate from VCarve? Adjusting the rate in VC doesn't seem to have an effect on the machine.

I'm cutting/drilling brass sheet and going through cutters on the plunge

    Any help much appreciated.
    Cheers
    Phil

You can't do this with de v cave software. Use de DSP controller to adjust plunge rate manual...

Thanks for the reply. I've set the ZdwnRatio to the minimum (0.01) before running the file and changed to a ball cutter which helped. Edge quality is pretty bad but at least it cuts.

Good! That saves you some money on router bits
Wish the machine could read and execute the programmed plunge/travel/... rate too.
    Anyhow happy routing!

Are you saying the machine ignores the feedrate in the g-code when plunging?? That doesn't make any sense.
VCarve has a plunge rate that's set when you select or edit the tool.

Yups my machine ignores the Travel/cutting/plunge speed. I have to set them manually with my dsp controller...

The set up to read Gcode feed rates is done via: Menu - Auto Pro Setup - GCode Read Setup - FRead. Default FRead setting is disable. Button 2 and 6 toggles between disable and enable.
