Hey guys starting my second build I'm needing some advice on round linear rail. First build I used bearing carriers from CnCRouterParts and they worked fantastic, but always has issues with keeping the flat track clean even with dust collection. So this time around still 2' x 4' working area, I was thinking about using 16mm fully supported linear rail for the X axis mounted on the outside of the extrusion frame. 16mm fully supported top and bottom on a Tslots 1530 extrusion for the Y axis. Very similar in design to the Probotix https://probotix.com/FireBall_Meteor_cnc_router/

Next I may decide to drive X and Y with acme screw instead of timing belt drive. I'm not looking for insanely fast rapids. How much torque is wasted? Torq or the steppers? Haven't bought steppers yet, but just purchased A G540 and already have a 36V 12A supply.

Just thought I'd pick your guys brains on these.

Thanks in advanced.
