Need some advice on adding a tool setting probe to a Fanuc 0 - MD

    Hey guys,

I recently got a Hardinge VMC600ii, currently rebuilding the machine, but i want to get some advice in preparation to install a tool setting probe, i am not too bothered about a spindle probe, haimer 3D taster would be a better option for something this old.

I bought a cheap Chinese setter for testing and just for the crack really, it says it has a 1 micron repeatability.. we can see how good it really is.

If any of you guys on the forum have ever installed a tool setting probe on a Fanuc Series 0 if possible could you share some info on the process.

    Thanks : D

Skip or High Speed Skip would be the simplest way to do it. Take a look at the Connection Manual (Function), B-61393 for a description. The machine will likely use X8.7 for the input. It may already be in it. A Fanuc option setting is required.
