New guy, planning to build a Joes 06

Hi everyone, I'm Trey. I came across the Joe's 06 a few years back, and wanted to build one then. I kinda dismissed it, but the urge is back. I have never used a CNC machine before, let alone built one.

I am considering this for the electronics...

Will probably upgrade to 5 start lead screws, and anti backlash.

The plan for the machine right now is mostly going to be balsa and light plywood. I also found some clocks many years back that I wanted to build, so maybe some of those too.

Looks like I am going to have a lot of questions. I will probably be starting this around the first part of Feb. Tax returns!

I think the Xylotex is underpowered for 5 start screws. I'd recommend a G540 if you'll be using those screws.

And I do have a Xylotex on my machine.

Would you say this is probably a better setup then?

I went with the probotix kits
    http://www.probotix.com/3_axis_stepp...or_driver_kit/

they have been very helpful and prompt with delivery. I had one of their stepper drivers go bad and they sent me a new one the next day FREE to replace it.

I am using 1/2 5 start lead screws from McMaster-Carr and the rest of the hardware from Dumpstercnc leadnuts couplers and collars. with this setup I have had tremendous luck.
