I need to make some molds and want to use our Biesse Rover C to make them. We have enough Z Axis to do this but have never Programmed a Arc in Z. We Program Arcs in x and y all the time.

I can’t seem to find anything in Biesseworks to allow me to do this, but is there a way to write this as G Code?

basically a 3 point arc in z with the Length in x 12" and the Depth in z at the x=6" mid Point = 1.5"

Have you investigated G18 and G19?

I have a 5 axis Rover C6 we had to go to MasterCam due to Biesse Works limitations. You don't need the full blown 5x package, just Curve5.

The difference is just the Plane. Now, consider when you have to interpolate in ZX PLANE. Then the you will activate G19 code & write the program (as if you are viewing it from ZX Plane).
The coordinates will include only coordinates (if you are doing 2D) & it will include Y coordinates (if you are doing 3D).

But, don't think about making a manual program in 3D. It certainly not a easy job. You have to think about CUTTER COMPENSATION, CUSP, DOC, START & END POINT & MOST IMPORTANT THE CUTTER COMPENSATION. PLEASE DONT PLAY WITH IT.

My advice is stick to a CAM Program & make a toolpath by Ball cutters.
