Hello all,

I have a strange problem with a Mazak L-32 laser cutting machine.

I succeded to transfer files form the machine to the PC using the RS232 serial port, but I could not transfer files form the PC to the machine.

Does anybody run into the same problem ?

Do you receive an alarm at the machine or nothing at all when sending from the PC to the Mazak?

If alarm, then you know data is getting to the Mazak but probably timing, format or parameters. If nothing, then you might have a problem at the PC or cable.

What are your current communication parameters on the PC and CNC?
What software are you using?

First of all, thanks for your interest in helping me.

I receive nothing when trying to transfer programs from the PC to the machine. Everything looks dead.

I do not believe that either the cable or the transfer parametres have any problems, because the other way (machine to PC) works perfect.

I have adjusted the parameters until I got a transfer without any loss of data (program data).

On my opinion, I suspect that Mazak requires some non-visible characters to be inserted at the begining and/or at the end of the program (spaces, tabs, enters or something elese, or some combination of these).

If the machine does not find these characters, the transfer won't work.

As software solutions I used both NC-net lite and Easy DNC.

Perhaps I have to use a Mazak-agreed solution, but I have no idea which one.

Try send the program that came out of the machine back to the machine. If you get an alarm,then check cable or port on the pc. You can also get rs232 tester to verify data is going to the machine. See our website for a sample.
