    LAST SUPPER

Hi Lurker, I have checked the file in Vcarve and when I double clicked the tool in toolpath it opened the edit window. This file is as it was downloaded from the Vectric Forum. I hope it will work for you.
    Regards
    Eric

BTW SKIPPER 52 Thanks for the file, was able to mirror it but curiously enough the gcode APPEARS identical to the normal view file (only compared parts of the code)

I don't know if that one qualifies as art, but it's definately one of the wierder spams I've seen!

Need a bit of help please

I have a an image I scanned using Corel Draw and am finding that I can't make any progress in creating a file I can use in VcarvePro so I can engrave it onto some plaques I'm donating to my shooting club. I'm only interested in the parts of the picture that pertain to the shooter and bench.

Would someone be so kind as to convert it to a .dfx file or any file usable in Vcarve pro. Also an explanation how it was done would sure help out my education in making up plaques.

    Thanks,

    Lee

First sorry for my wrong english!

    I just thinking:
If you scan something, this picture is in raster format in Coreldraw.
Corel have not so good raster vector conversion. (trace)
I think better using VCarve PRO's own vector conversion process.

Use Coreldraw export command and save it for example in .BMP format!
This better like JPG, because it isn't compressed and quality of this format is better.

Then strart VCarve pro, start new project and use IMPORT/IMPORT BITMAP command for import saved picture in.

You will have your picture on screen.
    Now use EDIT/TRACE BITMAP command!
Play a littlebit with possible settings!

The result vectors will on your screen. Now you can delete raster from background and you can delete unnessesary vectors too.
    Then you can generate G-codes.

    Have a nice day!

Thank you KisKZ, that worked out great, I now have something I can work with in VCarve. There are some problems with it but as I'm new to this it'll make a good project to get some practice on.

    Thanks again,

    Lee

    Hello Bob,

The file is located at message #8321. I just learned how to attach a file today!!
I followed KisKZ instructions and I did in fact get it into Vcarve though I'm still trying to get it cleaned up. If you do perchance take a look at it could you tell me how to get the lines all connected and smoothed out. That would be a great help for this new guy.

    Thanks,

    Lee
