    Plugins - Camotics & V-Engrave

    I realized this morning while researching something else that Camotics can work with more than just ball end and square end mills. It can use a few other cutters, but the one of interest here is a "conical." For practical purposes a conical and a V-bit are the same. The Camotics Plug-In does not appear pass on the v-bit data from CamBam. However, if after entering Camotics I redifne the tool as a conical and add its specifications I can regenerate the simulation, and it will produce a passable approximation.

    I wonder how difficult it would be to pass that information on directly as it does with ball end and square end mills.

    The XML file generated by the plugin

    Code:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>

    <camotics><nc-files>Sans%20titre.nc</nc-files><resolution-mode v="HIGH"/><units v="MM"/><automatic-workpiece v="false"/><workpiece-max v="(88,58,0)"/><workpiece-min v="(-11,-12,-5)"/><tool_table><tool units="MM" shape="CONICAL" radius="4" number="22" length="2.3094010767585038">022: 8.0 mm - A graver - z2 - 120.0Deg</tool></tool_table></camotics>

    Re

    Works with both tools coming from the tool library or with a tool defined on the fly, as in the video. (plugin 1.5.5 for CamBam V1.0)

    Hello David,
    this is a very nice video. It shows that CamBam is a really great piece of software.
    Only screencast is not the place to save videos “durable”.
    You can only save 25 videos, then you have to delete them again to save new ones. The Pro version is too expensive.
    I download the videos and save them on really free platforms like YT or on my own server.
    Otherwise the video will simply disappear at some point.
    If you don't have space on the server, you can send me videos and I'll save them on my server.

    Something has changed on screencast ? ... I have hundreds of videos saved on screencast.

    No problem, I've space enough
