I like the way you did that on the fence, instead of hanging it on it!

It would look really neat if you took a torch and burned the routes. That would make it really stand out.

I do that on my chainsaw carvings but I hadn't thought of using a torch on the fence carvings. A friend used 'clear gel stain' on the boards I carved for him. It looked pretty good when he first did it.

HMMMM...How about a CNC with a chainsaw mount for carvings?

Sadly, you are not even the first this week to make that suggestion. HaHaHa HOWEVER, there are some custom built duplicators out there using either chainsaw or stump grinder technology.

Just for fun, a new fence carving photo. This one, or rather the fuzzy bits in it, demonstrates the importance of drying the boards before carving and using a sharp cutter.

Some people might say that this is probably a stupid question however if I don't ask I won't know for sure....
Am I right in thinking that you VCarved the Dragonfly and the Eagle on the flat on your CNC table then installed the fence boards?
OR do you have a magic CNC machine you hang on a fence to VCarve....

Hey Bri4n, I did a bing search and found lots of different templates for arcade control panels. There are many different configurations. What Configuration are you looking for? You might search for an image of what you are looking for and post that.

Just about any of them would work all I really need is joystick hole placement and button spacing. I have not had any luck finding anything in dxf format.

I carve the fence boards on my CNC table 3 or 4 at a time, clamping them with a 2x4 (at each end) that has a rubber pad on the bottom side.

The only stupid question is an unasked one. And from what I have learned about CNC, hanging one on a fence is not impossible...just another challenge!

My company we have some stencilers that are moveable. So really it is possible.

I think we should make one and patent it.

    Godspeed101,

This may be a bit better for your project, it is much smoother than the artwork you posted.

Please post images of your finished work.
