    re-heat treating 6061 T-6?

I was wondering if a guy needs to re-heat treat 6061 T-6, after machining it? Will it be weaker than in it's virgin, extruded form? I'm building some gun frames, and was just wondering if it will be close to it's original specs. I'm using coolant, and it's not getting hot or anything, but just wondering...

    Thanks!
