Question Ethernet board for fanuc 21i MB controller

Hi, guys, I am working a project involving a Fanuc 21i MB controller. for Ethernet connection, do I need to purchase a ethernet board? I heard that there is an Ethernet port on the controller already. but I cannot find it.

    Thanks for your help

Frist you need to determine if it is an "LCD-Mounted" CNC or a "standalone". If it is LCD-mount, the CNC is completely mounted behind the LCD screen, and only the drive system is mounted in the electical cabinet. The standalone CNC has a separate display and CNC and the CNC is most likely mounted in the electrical cabinet with the drives.

If you cannot find the CNC in the electrical cabinet (A02B-0285-B801 or A02B-0285-B803), then it is likely that it is an LCD-mount.

The Ethernet port on the LCD-Mount is on the motherboard mounted behind the LCD screen. On the standalone in is in the front of the yellow box in the electical cabinet.

In the picture 209e can you see on the bottom of the board, left side, does it say ethernet or network and not have a plug there? I know on the 0i there was a blank spot on the board where they did not solder on a connector, no network. If not open the yellow cage and look for a RJ40 connector mounted on the board. if there is not one then you will have to order the option.
