smoothstepper stops mach3 after 460 lines

Just got a new USB Smoothstepper and am trying to set it up on a spare
system. the system is Intel core2, windows 7, and Mach3 ver 3.043.040,
v17f & 2.08.24 SS drivers. I have the SS just setting next to the computer
and nothing is attached but the USB cable. I have the drivers installed and
it is comunicating fine. If I run a G code file mach3 will take off and run to line
460-- 485 range and then stop. The lites on SS are still on and proper.
If I tell it not to use SS and use the parallel port with the SS still plugged in
Mach3 runs fine, will run to end of all G-code programs.
I have tried to change the setting in the SS plugins in Mach3 but to no avail.
I have tried Mach3 ver 066, same thing. Have turned off all programs in windows
that are not needed. Have tried different Gcode files, still stops in the 460--489 range
    of lines

    Any Help ?????

Sounds like you have not installed the Mach 3 license, Mach 3 will only run up to 500 lines without the license being installed

I do not have the same setup that you have, and maybe this is obvious, but I'll suggest it anyway.

The unlicensed mode of Mach3 is limited to 500 lines of Gcode.

Is it possible that somehow Mach3 thinks that it is running in unlicensed mode and is cutting you off as you approach 500 lines?

Smoothstepper stoops Mach3 after 460 lines

Problem is not lic file, mach3 will run to the end of 24000 lines of code if the
smoothstepper is not used, in other words using the parallel port.

Have tried various other gcode files and still does same thing.

Is there a message when it stops?
What is the gcode where it stops?

smoothstepper stops mach3 at line 460

There are no messages displayed in Mach3. Here is a sample section of G-code that it stops at in one program. the line it stops on is 474 in this case.

    N4820G1X10.3211Y2.6098Z-0.2859

    Nothing special about it.

I just ran it again and turned on the logging in the mach3 plugin and
noticed that it had a number like 947 that was fairly consistant in the
box that is labeled buffer-- until it gets to the line 474 and then it is 0.
Not sure what that is all about but it may be the problem.

    Sounds very strange indeed.
The USB smooth stepper is known to stop working but when it does it crashes and burns. Nothing short of and closing Mach3 and restarting will get it working again. What you are experiencing sounds very strange.

If it helps I have mach3 and a USB smooth stepper it you would like to post a file with the first 1000 lines or so I will run do an air cut of it on my machine and see if it runs right through or stops at the same point as yours.

    Cheers
