I am having some issues with our tool changer and would appreciate any input on what may be going on... When we try to make a tool change commamd heres is whats happening: The spindle lifts to the level of the magazine, Tool rotates to correct position, however the magazine does not move over to grab the tool. Basically the whole process stops and no alarms come up. We just replaced tool changer solenoid with a new replacement from okuma. Indicators lites are lit up on solenoid itself showing it is getting power... Also it is a OSP 5020 monitor on this machine. Thanks for any input

Tool change sequence is like a long chain or ladder. Any link missing and the process hangs. So the head goes up, then a sensor or position monitor note head is in position, then the next step should happen etc. So perhaps the control does not know the head is up (safe), or the control does not know the spindle is rotated to correct position (even tho it looks OK to you). Use the diagnostics and wiring diagram to follow the tool change sequence. Output turned on should energize a solenoid and cause a movement, then a sensor (limit switch etc.) should reply to the control that the movement occurred properly, then on to the next sequence. Any limit switch in "unsafe" position will hang the process.
