I am getting a whistle on my Haas DM2 spindle, but it's only typically shortly after startup each morning, and it's only when it's running in lower RPM ( in the 2,500 range )
Once its anything above that it goes away.
My normal startup each morning is to do a lube pressure check on my spindle oiler to force the machine to get a drop of oil into that line, followed by a spindle warmup routine.
Here is a video link with the sound ( sorry for the poor audio )
Then as soon as you hear me manually increasing the RPM past the 2,500 rpm the noise goes away... then towards the end of the video I bring the spindle all the way up to 15,000 RPM ( with no noise )
Also once I have completed the spindle ramp up routine, the noise goes away for the rest of the day...
Thanks,
Kent
