Hi everyone
I'm shortly going to embark on cnc'ing my 7x10 lathe. I'm keen to be able to carry on cutting threads with it though so I'm planning on fitting a spindle sensor. Any tips on where to get a suitable sensor?
Thanks!

This should work for the index sensor - DAK Engineering - CNC Threading
It would be wise to make another one that has a bunch of holes in a disk to another input. That is what EMC recommends in their integrator manual. They talk about a 100 pulse per rev encoder and an index encoder both sending signals back to the CPU.
Edit. Here is another link I found

Here's the one I use: CNC4PC
It's also for a one hole disc which Mach3 works best with. I haven't done any threading with mine yet but the spindle rpm readings are extremely accurate. It may work OK with more holes/slots if you don't use Mach3.
I bought the C-3 because my electronics knowledge is a bit lacking and it worked right out of the package...just followed the instructions.
I have the C3 on my 11x26 and it threads great now that I finally got it all set up, turned some 1.37x24tpi internal left and right hand threads a couple weeks ago
