Hello I found a need program here StippleGen: Weighted Voronoi stippling and TSP paths in Processing | Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories

And am able to make some really neat photos by letting my machine run out all night, however I am unable to do anything with what I make.

It is able to export an svg file but when I open it in inkscape the export or save as buttons will not appear, and the program generally freezes after a few moments.

After several hours on the internet I cannot find a program or method anywhere to resolve this.

My hope is to vcarve the dots, stain it and then sand the top down.

Sounds like you are running into a problem with available computer memory due to the large file size required for this type of graphic and resulting calculations needed to generate the tool paths. Change resolution or switch to a computer with much more memory.

Thanks for the advice, I lowered the number of dots to about a 1/4 as before and it works now I have attached the dxf if anyone want to give it a try, know that you need to let the program run for some time before you get convincing results.

P.S for anyone else trying this my rig has 3.3 gigs ram so you may need to run it at a lower amount of dots.

Glad you got it worked out. Your DXF file opens with zero entities showing in my software. Might want to look at your output format.

Ya sorry about that Ive tried re saving using the different options for dxf output but I keep getting empty 5 kilobyte files anyone have any advice?

I am able to export from inkscape as a jpeg or pdf however these show circles and not dots.

Do you need to "select all" before outputting? What other file type option do you have? IGS maybe? STL?

Tried Crtl A and tried select all from the menu no luck, I dont think inscape can output anything else that might work. Even a high res bitmap in not accurate
