    Taking the plunge again!!!

Ok Im looking to buy another mill to convert, Ive decided my Boxford 260 vmc is almost ready to go.

Im looking for one similar to the picture below, New OR Second Hand, if you know of any similar mills on the net preferably in the UK. please post the link, or if you have one let me know..

    Im looking for Cross travel: > 150mm & Longitudinal travel: > 420mm
I would like an R8 taper (but would consider others) as I will be converting to ATC.

You can find a few links from the UK here under 'where to buy'
    g0704.com
A couple are available with R8.

You could just read through his entire thread and see what he is changing

    This was the beginning thread
    http://www.cnczone.com/forums/bencht...sss_g0704.html
and later this one after the first was locked due to some knuckle head getting bent out of shape...

Be warned it is a huge read and may consume a large portion of your life for the next week or so to get through it ...

some very good info here on the G0704(BF20) mills.

otherwise im sure hoss will be along shortly to sum up the good and the bad.

As with most of the benchtop mills, the max rpm is not really ideal if you plan to do
    a lot of aluminum machining.
That with the plastic gear '"fuse" they come with makes a belt drive desirable.
