    Visual quick code parameters

Have a question, I dont use the visual quick code programm o9996 at all, I do use the program number o9997 like everyday. This is the program for the probe and tool setter.
is there a parameter that I can change so when you pres MDI then scroll to the VQC tab and hit enter the 09997 comes up instead of having to press F2 then select o9997.

I had thought my HFO told me its a setting but wasnt sure, so I figured I would ask here first.

    Thanks

You could turn off setting 23 to show all the O9000 programs but there is a lot of them.
How about creating a short program that just calls O9997 ?

Sorry. I wasn't paying attention. That's a VQC program where you are going to input variables? I'm not sure an external call will do it right. The VF-2ss is running right now so I can't check.

Edit: Just checked. I'm totally off base.

Try parameter 228. You will need to turn setting 7 off and press e-stop to change the value. --- OOPS that is quick code and not VQC. Maybe you can try to change the program number.

maybe I made it sound worse than it is by tossing the program numbers in it.( as thats what I see when I hit the "f2" key

when you goto the vdc tab on the far right, you need to press "F2" so you can get the probe menu up. the default is the VQC program menu.

Thats all I want to do is bypass the hitting "f2" every time.( or the default if you will from VQC program menu to VDQ Probe Menu) was hoping that I could just cursor right to the VQC tab and my probe program list be in there instead of the quick program list.

I just assumed there would be a parameter to swap the probe menu and the program menu under that tab.

I only have to hit "F2" everytime I power up so its not that big of a deal.

sorry for any confusion. as I am sure I just made it worse

    Wayne,

What would happen if you combined the two files into one larger file? Would you get both the normal VQC templates and the probing templates in one larger series of templates? Or would that overwhelm the menu system under VQC? I'm still not well versed on how all those templates are created and displayed on the screen.

    Combining VQC templates

Just a follow-up of the question I posted above: could you combine VQC templates to make one, 'super menu' with all of the VQC options listed at once?

The answer is: yes, it works just fine. I have been training a coworker on how to use the new machines at work. He had enough to try to swallow without having to contend with, "What eleven keys do I have to press to get to the probing commands?"

I moved 00996 and O0997 to my PC and backed them up in a different folder.
I opened both files, copied the entirety of the O0996 file (except the program name and the ending M30). I pasted that into O0997, in the block right after the program number, then saved it to the thumbdrive. I moved that file back to the machine and reloaded it. Now when I call up the VQC temlates, it lists all of the probing menus first, then the standard VQC menus right after them. Sweet!

see if I got this right.

grab everything out of the o0996 file EXCEPT the program name and the ending M30 paste it into the o0997 program?

Since I am here working on my fadal I will fire up the haas and try it right now.
    thanks

    Donkey/Haas App.
today I has some warrenty work done and was screwing with the machine. we just changed the 2 program numbers and it worked fine. didnt have to alter the program at all.

now when the machine powers on and you go into quick code you don't have to hit F2 to call up the probing and tool setting routines.

I am only 8 months late in doing it LOL

Can somebody send me a copy of O0997. I bought a VF-2 and it didnt come with the VQC software. I need a copy of the program so I can load it in to get VQC. I would greatly appreciate it.
