Since my router is 99% complete, time for stupid question #1432. I bought the k2-cnc router mount for my Hitachi, but am unsure as to where on the z-carriage I should mount it.
Is there an accepted location to mount the router or spindle? Should the collet be in line with the bottom of the backplate, or slightly above so that a router bit is in line with the bottom of the backplate?? This seems like a really basic question, but I want to make sure before I start drilling holes into a $60 mount! Thanks - :rainfro:

Mount it so that you can reach the table with the shortest bit you'll use, and also so that you get maximum clearance with the longest bit you'll use.
