EMO World Tour: British excitement for the fair
VDW Executive Director Dr. Wilfried Schäfer visited the British capital London on the EMO World Tour 2017. With the support of Stewart Lane, Renishaw plc's Director of Group Sales Development, he provided information on the prospects for the machine tool industry in the UK.
And those are currently somewhat clouded: Even though the industrial production of the country is expected to rise slightly, investments are dropping. The eight most important customer industries of the machine tool industry are all planning to invest less, with metal production and processing, the transport sector and the optics industry coming off best. From 2018 onwards, however, the machine tool consumption is expected to rise again.
However, Stewart Lane is not going to wait till then. At the EMO Hannover 2017, his company will be present for the first time with a second stand for additive technology. He greatly appreciates the exhibition. On no other fair of the sector does he generate more international leads than at the EMO. In Hanover, he could meet real decision-makers. And he has a lot to show them: he wants to present twelve new product solutions at the fair and bring them to the market.
