EMO World Tour stops in Chengdu
Long taxis at the airport of Chengdu, the penultimate venue of the EMO World Tour in China. With the car, we will soon arrive at the EMO press conference which will take place in the legendary Jing Jiang Hall in the heart of Chengdu. The city is located in the east of the province of Sichuan, in the plain of the Sichuan Basin, and is traversed by the Fu He river, a derivative of Min Jiang. The sub-provincial capital Chengdu has reached its present size by multiple consolidation of smaller administrative units. The narrow city (city districts without counties) has a considerable population of 4.52 million. Today Chengdu is the main traffic junction in West China. Although Chengdu relies on industrialization (mechanical engineering, chemical industry, food industry, aircraft construction, pharmaceuticals), the city is proud to keep a "green heart". Over 200 of the Forbes-500-companies are represented in Chengdu. The electrical and mechanical engineering industry plays an important role in the region, making it an ideal venue for the world's leading exhibition for metalworking EMO Hannover 2017.
