EMO World Tour: French modernize production technology
The EMO World Tour in Paris - almost like a trip into its own "childhood". After all, the first exhibition with this name took place by the Seine in 1975. At the press conference in the Ritz, VDW Executive Director Wilfried Schäfer sees potential for the French machine tool market. Although the predicted growth in industrial production is a not too overwhelming 1.6 percent, the investment in the eight most important customer industries of machine tools is expected to be 3.6 percent in 2017. French machine tool consumption is expected to increase by 6.2 percent. Above all, the renewal of production technology is the focus of French industry here.
Also driven by future-proof production is Jean Camille Uring, the director of Addup, a collaboration between Fives and Michelin. 3D printing in the metal processing industry is the company's expertise: Fives brings expertise as a machine manufacturer, Michelin has its intensive experience with additive manufacturing processes. As an innovation platform, the EMO Hannover 2017 is the right opportunity for the French. Uring announced that Addup will present a highly automated system at the trade fair that will integrate different processes. Uring also incorporates work safety: Addup has already implemented solutions for the handling of fine metal dusts.
