EMO World Tour: Swiss machine tool consumption is on the rise
Even if the depreciation shock of the Swiss franc is still palpable, Switzerland is currently developing positively for the machine tool sector, as VDW Executive Director Dr. Wilfried Schäfer reported on the EMO World Tour in Zurich. The producers of transport equipment (rail vehicle construction), the automotive industry, aircraft construction and the manufacturers of metal products invest disproportionately. Accordingly, Swiss machine tool consumption in 2017 is up 11.1 percent.
A reason for joy also for German machine tool manufacturers: With a share of 46 per cent, they are by far the most important suppliers for the Swiss market. Their products enjoy a good reputation in Switzerland, especially when it comes to special solutions for special applications in the automotive industry, for suppliers, mechanical engineering and the electronics industry. For Swiss users of machine tools, the EMO Hanover is thus particularly interesting as an innovation platform in order to find out about the latest solutions.
