When I add to wear offset the display changes the size by the amount added.
What parameter do I change so the the programmed size is displayed.
I looked through the manual but couldn't find it.
Thanks

I think it may be 5002 bit 2 (wear) and/or 5002 bit 4 (geom).
When these are set to 1, the offset is applied by shifting the coordinate system. When set to 0, the offset is applied by moving the tool.
Yes, 5002 bit 2 that's it.
Thanks!!
Good information. Thanks.
I am wondering why two methods for offset implementation has been given. With the default settings (i.e., 0), geom is done by moving the coordinate system, and wear by moving the tool. Initially, when I was new to these things, I found this very confusing. I still do not see any logic in why offset may be desired to be implemented by moving the tool. Any idea?
Perhaps they wanted to give the user a choice.
Obviously.
But, was there any need for a choice?
From users' point of view, both methods are equivalent; these work equally well, and are used in the same manner in a program/offset setting procedure.
What the machine is doing internally is not important, at least in this case.
Too many choices are not desirable, as these may actually confuse the user, and, of course, keep this forum busy.
