Yes. You only need to use two plates for the first tool. After that it zeroes from the reference plate, which can be mounted anywhere. (as long as the tool can reach it).

ok. now the question is, i can't load a .75in and a .125in bit in the same gcode to do a tool change. can i still use the tool change fearture after i load a new gcode say the .125in( i just ran the .75in now i have to load a new gcode in) gcode with out zeroing it to the part agean? thanks for your help
Yes, you can do a tool change as I mentioned in post #259.
I recommend changing tools before loading the second g-code, as the program will automatically start after zeroing if g-code is loaded.

Hello Gerry - I really like the look and feel of your screenset, but after hooking up a tool measuring plate I am having difficulty getting it to work. The LED definately registers that it is connected, but the simple auto-measure macro doesnt appear to function. I have only got one plate so put the same position in both places. I work in metric. I would like to step through in a block-by-block mode but there is no preview of the macro code to see where it hangs up. I get the 'probing' message but then it just sits there. If I get bored waiting and press escape of reset then it will move in z to a clearance position or something, then eventually exit the routine. Ive gone through the manual carefully. Have you made any changes that I need to be aware of?
Hi Jimildoo,
Don't know what version of Mach 3 you are running. You might want to check the version of Mach3 you are running. Check back on this thread at post 196,197.
I initially had an issue and found out that the version of Mach3 I was running had a bug that kept the 2010 Screen Set from working properly. Changed to the version Gerry recommended and everything now works perfect for me.

As John said, what version of Mach3?
If it's a really old version, like 2.63, I don't think it will work. I don't think it's the issue with 3.43.022, as that locks up mach3, and the simple zero should work in that one.
Can you post your .xml file here? You'll need to zip it to upload it.

Thank you for the screen set. It works very well with the wireless probing.

Not sure if there is some limitation that would prevent this feature from being added but I thought I would ask because I often work with small parts. Would it be possible to add a feature that would center and zoom the gcode file to fill the preview window when loaded or when a button is pressed?
I don't know if it's possible, and if it it, I don't know how to do it.
Generally, when you open a g-code file, the display will show the extents of the g-code + the current tool location if it's outside the g-code.
If the tool is over the part when you load the g-code, it should fill the window when you load the code, provided you don't have any moves away from the part.

Even if the tool is over the part it still looks very small on the screen when I open a gcode file. It may be because I have it showing table view. I'll have to mess with it a bit and see.
Is it this you mean?
Click and hold down the mouse in the preview window to rotate
Hold down "Shift" and move the mouse for Zoom
Hold down the "right mouse button" to move.
"Doubble click" in window to reset.
Ole
Yes. It would be nice for it to automatically zoom to the size of the gcode file being loaded.
In the "Config" "ToolPath" you can turn off boundaries etc. Then they dont show when you load the G-code.

Absolutly. Something I'm currently working on is for a benefit called IRONFEST. This is the second year for IRONFEST which started last year as a benefit for my nephew who died at the age of 34. His mother, wife and kid (all of wihich I are also awesome people) are not rich and the headstone has yet to be paid for so I'm making these and 2 other styles, to sell on the 29th of this month at The Southgate House in Newport Ky. 16 bands and is obviously a whole house event (4 stories) We are a close family and everyone who was friends with Mike (and he had alot) felt like family to them. In short a really good guy.
Anyway, sorry for the long post... Pic and code attached.
BTW, i'm using a 1/8" 2 flute endmill. Cutting black 1/8" pollycarbonate and getting fussys all over the place. I've cut a ton of prototypes and have gotten it some what managable but I'd prefer to not have to pull little crap off of a few hundred of these (and 2 other styles).
Any help advice or suggestions are always appreciated
Oh, probably should mention that these are keychains...
Here's what I see when I open the file.

Welp.... I went to turn on the computer for my CNC and its looking like I'm having HDD issuse.... It gets just past the post code and flashes a curser... damn... I've gotta get this fixed quick... I tried it here on my regular machine and when I turn off machine boundaries it fills the screen as well. I guess that will do but I do like seeing the boundaries too...
Thanks for the help guys.
Hello
Find out that when i have set the Jog to 0.01 mm increment. It moves in 0.0125 mm step, same in X Y Z ???

Any solution.
The increment shows .01 on the jogging tab?
What are your steps/mm?
If you can upload your .xml file I'll take a look.
