You will need software such as dolphin; bobcad; Rhino cad with rhino cam; and lots of others varying in price from a couple of hundered to several thousand dollars. If you know g code you can map the coordinates and write manually, but its time consuming and boring. Most all software has post processers for mach 3.
V-Carve Pro from Vectric. I load .dxf files into VCP all the time then generate the toolpaths and output the gcode.

Hi Mac...
Just for some balance to the 'how do I' question. Check out cnc4free.org homepage on the essentials and tutorials pages there is some info on where to find and how to use some free tools for toolpath generation....
(For the record I use vcarve, just thought I'd chuck in some free options for you)
Cheers, Me.
Does anyone know where I can find any of the star wars 3d puzzles? Looking for the walkers or drones. Anything will do though. Thanks in advance.
looking to turn these into dxf, a guy wants these cut out for a grave site. thanks for all the help![]()
Here are the 2 files; I used Adobe Bridge to take them into Illustrator and then I used the Object Trace tool to turn them into AI files, then exported them into dxf files. I don't know if they are high enough quality for you. If not then you could try VectorMagic
They will work great!
Thanks guys![]()
I posted this sign last week, and having trouble trying to get the corn stalks to look like corn when laser cut. Does anyone else have dxf of corn stalks or any idea's?
The only place I could find this picture was a tat on Stalones back from the movie The Expendables and it said expendable in that version. I did this one like the pic supplied by Kevin44 and the text was not to clear so I guessed at some of it. I imagine it means the same thing as the one from the movie.
some one have a finger pointing sign?
You mean like the bottom bit of this?
I've got it as a .crv but can export to dxf for you if it's what you want...
(done as part of a set of signs for a big wedding earlier this year)
