    Hello Forum,

We are an architectural millwork shop in the suburbs of Houston. I have a C R Onsrud 4axis 5x12 router. I use AlphaCam Ultimate 2014, AutoCad 2013 and CabinetVision for programing.

Hi there, My name is Pierre, I am from Montreal, Canada.
I am so happy to see there is such a CNC Maniac place.
I am new to CNC, I have some industrial mechanic experience.
I need help to get the best CNC for my needs.
I am looking to built CNC to work with a small 1/4" router (Dewalt) on a 2' by 2' boards.
Also, for the future, another CNC to work with a 1/2" router, for larger projects 4' by 8'.
I am looking for the best parts for my money, my first one hopefully will provide income for the larger one.
I want to work on Russian Plywood up to 1" thick
I will search and dig in CNCZone .
I am open to all comments and suggestions :-)
    Thanks all

    Hi Pierre,

I joined the CNC zone yesterday. I built my MakeCNC-based machine starting in January from this Instructable posting:

How to Make a Three Axis CNC Machine (Cheaply and Easily)

The Instructable author adapted the MakeCNC three axis machine slightly and included cut diagrams. Excluding the dremel and control PC you could build this system for about $600 US dollars. With a very small modification I further adapted the machine to use my Porter Cable 1.75 horsepower full-sized router and it works great.

If you are interested in building this machine let me know and I can email you detail drawings and plan information.

    Howdy,

I've just purchased a TK-CNC Chinese laser, I'm in the last stages of setting up.
I've got everything running except for some reason laser fires properly on 'pulse' mode but not when running job.

If you're wondering what getting an industrial machine into a mobile home's like, check it out here

I also have a home-made small CNC router (made by somebody else).

    Greetings Everybody!

Just joined the CNCZone. I am wanting to brush up on terminology and techniques, tips and tricks. Worked in job shops a decade+ ago for defense and aerospace, on manuals, Fadals, and CNC punch machines.

Planning on getting a small shop setup for prototyping and small production runs.

    Hi Everyone,
I'm in the process of rebuilding an old Bridgeport with the round ram J head. This was used by the company I worked for until they closed and they were scrapping it. I told them to scrap it in the back of my truck!. I'll primarily use it for hobbies and what like to get the most out of it and will eventually do some kind of cnc kit.

Hi, my name is Torsten and I am a member of my local hackerspace, where we currently have a small CNC router (Bungard) which we use for milling PCBs, plywood, MDF, plexiglass and so on. We are hoping to expand our tool collection with a laser cutter, so I signed up to the forum in order to get some expert advice.
