Connecting human, machine and production environment - EMCO supports the developement of umati
The interlinking of human, machine and production environment is one of the most important trends in production - with the aim of using the collected data in order to generate added value for the customer and further optimise their production processes. As a partner of umati, EMCO supports the development and establishment of an open industry standard for straightforward machine integration at the customer's. Thanks to umati, EMCO is able to achieve this goal in a time- and cost-efficient way for a broad customer base.
With umati, it is possible to make a quantum leap towards a simplified integration of machines into the customer's production environment, which again allows for “plug-and-machine” operations. Thanks to cross-manufacturer standardisation it can be foreseen that umati will soon be incorporated into a wide range of application systems (such as MES systems), because the standard produces clear benefits and makes things easier for all partners involved.
In a live demonstration which is going to take place at EMO 2019 (hall H27/ booth E24), EMCO will choose the latest generation of the HYPERTURN 65-G2 turning and milling centre to showcase its integration into the VDW demo application along with the machine overview of all participating partners.
