April 2021
Company: umati - an initiative sponsored by VDW and VDMA
umati has new partner Solukon

Solukon is now part of the umati community.

What expectations do you have of umati, what do you expect from the partnership?

“Connectivity of different machines and consistent data collection and evaluation are the greatest challenges in additive manufacturing at the moment. We expect lively exchange with experts of other engineering companies and are pleased to share our know-how within the umati network. Together we want to take the next steps towards a true “plug and play” between the systems, which means a consistent networking of machines regardless of the software or IT system”says Andreas Hartmann, CEO and CTO of Solukon.

What advantages does umati offer your company and your customers?

Digital integration and data-based quality validation of cleaning processes are main issues for our customers. Therefore, Solukon recently launched the Digital Factory Tool. By joining umati Solukon is demonstrating its customers a true willingness to push the digital machine integration forward –even beyond its own product, the Digital Factory Tool. We understand umati not only as a marketing tool but as a unique opportunity for networking and knowledge exchange.

How do you evaluate the expansion of the Umati initiative to the entire mechanical engineering industry?

We rate this very positive. Including all divisions of engineering enables more “out of the box”-thinking.
