What expectations do you have of umati, what do you expect from the partnership?
"A standardized communication with the equipment on the shopfloor is the vision. A maximum heterogeneous "data world" is the reality. With umati we have the chance to define a multilateral "language" to communicate with the specific machines and equipment on the shopfloor. The partnership enables us to help shape this "language"."
What advantages does umati offer your company and your customers?
"With the (umati-) standard for communication between the control level and the store floor, expenses are reduced, errors are avoided and data security is increased. The aim is to take the horror out of machine and system communication. The customer benefits from this in the form of safe and cost-effective solutions."
How do you evaluate the expansion of the umati initiative to the entire mechanical engineering industry?
"That must be the goal. Only if everyone participates, umati will be a success. Proprietary approaches and wagon castle mentality do not get us any further. The future industry 5.0 only works on the basis of open and standardized systems and interfaces."

IGH Infotec AG is a provider of standard software for production and logistics in connection with SAP ERP and S/4HANA. Our portfolio is divided into the following topics:
- Mobile data acquisition - mobile working with the SAP system in production and logistics. The mobile workflow is optimized for the information needs of the employee and the SAP system.
- MES (Manufacturing Execution System) - collection and management of production data, presentation of performance indicators (OEE, etc.) and initiating an improvement control loop in connection with the SAP system.
In addition, we advise our customers from process analysis, application consulting to the creation of optimization concepts for production and logistics.
A major topic is the interaction with the store floor. In addition to the active integration of the plant into the data flow, communication with the operating resources (machines) is an important performance feature of our products.
