The CHIRON Group is one of the eight core members of UMATI. Represented by a strong interest group within the entire machine tool industry, UMATI has the potential to become established as a global standard. An aim that we can only achieve together. UMATI offers for the first time the possibility of a simple and defined integration of machine tools into higher-level solutions, such as MES or ERP systems. In addition, the new interface guarantees a particularly high level of data security due to the underlying OPC UA standards specified for industrial automation. In Hannover, we will equip the DZ 16 W five axis, a machining center of the new series 16, with an UMATI interface. Using a dashboard, the determined data of the machining center and of machines of other exhibitors will be visualized live at the booth. With the new UMATI interface, manufacturers are working together and taking a decisive step towards the networked production of the future.
