From Production to Application: The #P2X Conference: VDMA Power-to-X for Applications is launching the new conference in 2022.

The conference will take place in close proximity to decarbXpo and to EUROSOLARs scientific “16. International Renewable Energy Storage Conference“ (IRES 2022). While decarbXpo as a trade fair for climate protection, energy transition and decarbonization networks technology and service providers with industry and commerce, IRES addresses the current state of research and the framework conditions of all energy storage technologies, from electricity to heat and including sector integration. With its strong energy and practical focus, From Production to Application: The #P2X Conference complements these two offerings in a targeted manner. In this way, synergies of all three formats are optimally exploited.

The VDMA was able to win Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Sterner as the scientific director of the conference. Sterner holds a professorship for energy storage at the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule (OTH) Regensburg and had initiated an annual power-to-gas conference in 2012. OTH took part in inventing P2G. "I am looking forward to working with VDMA. The conference follows on from the series of P2X conferences that I have had the pleasure of chairing six times in the past in Regensburg and Düsseldorf. The focus is and will remain on industry, because only with Power-to-X and hydrogen we will achieve climate neutrality, which is why these topics are of elementary importance for our future," Prof. Sterner explains.

Central topics of the From Production to Application: The #P2X Conference are electrolysis and other production processes for hydrogen, syntheses for eFuels and power-to-liquid products such as ammonia and methanol, the application in heavy-duty transport, shipping and aviation or in the process industries steel & chemicals, safety-related issues, transport and logistics as well as the technical-economic assessment of entire supply chains and their business cases in a national and international context. The target group includes experts from Germany, Europe, and potential partner regions. The main target groups are the transport, traffic and energy sectors, the metal, glass, mineral oil, chemical and maritime industries, machine and plant manufacturers and operators, as well as banks, investors, associations, and federations.

Information exchange, close networking, and cooperation along the P2X value chain are of crucial importance right now. Accordingly, they are the focus of the conference, which will also provide a showcase for the industry and a forum not only for research and technology, but also for addressing policymakers and the public.
