Web seminar: Trust in hydrogen technologies - safety aspects in the hydrogen value chain

The path to a hydrogen economy requires the introduction of numerous "new" technologies in many areas. However, this can only succeed if decision-makers and the public alike are convinced that these technologies have been sufficiently tested and are safe. The safety of hydrogen technologies must at least keep pace with technological developments - or even better, anticipate them - in order to avoid overly conservative and costly safety solutions and to demonstrate the practical usability and safety of hydrogen. If this does not succeed, even individual safety-related incidents can quickly lead to uncertainties and a considerable loss of trust.
On Tuesday, 29.10.24, 14:00 - 15:00, Dr. Kai Holtappels, Spokesman for the H2Safety@BAM competence center and head of the "Safety of Energy Carriers" department at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM), will outline in his presentation the current state of hydrogen safety, the specific challenges that still need to be overcome and how identified gaps can be closed. Language: German.
