The ERIG - European Research Institute for Gas and Energy Innovation has recently published a study on the technological options to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in long-haul heavy-duty road transport. The results show that, in the short term to 2030, bio-based and synthetic renewable fuels offer particular advantages in combination with conventional combustion engines, while still also offering a long-term perspective with the power-to-gas/fuel-technologies.
