Tour d’Europe showcases renewable fuels

The Tour d’Europe, an initiative of the EU automotive value chain, is running until June 23rd to showcase the decarbonisation potential provided by renewable fuels, raise awareness about their availability in Europe, and underline their role in reaching the EU’s objective of climate neutrality by 2050.
During the tour, light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles with internal combustion engines are traveling across Europe, stopping in selected cities. Local events promote the importance of renewable fuels, and partners share information, including feedstock options, production processes, carbon content and cycle, and ease of use, to elaborate on renewable fuels as a viable option for reducing GHG emissions.
Looking at the numbers and facts, we see that cars with combustion engines will still be on the roads long after 2035. We cannot ignore this reality, but we can make these vehicles climate-friendly and gradually phase out the use of fossil fuels. Initially, eFuels could be blended in smaller quantities with conventional fuels
