RED II delegated acts enter into force

In order for the use of hydrogen and derivatives to be recognized in the Renewable Energy Directive (REDII), two legal acts in particular are important. They now enter into force. The delegated act Art. 27.3 REDII ("Additionality") enacts a methodology to define renewable hydrogen, the delegated act from Art. 25 and 28 REDII assesses the greenhouse gas savings of hydrogen and derivatives (in REDII called "Renewable Fuels Non-Biological Origin", RFNBOs for short). After the consultation phase, the Commission had sent the final version of the two Delegated Acts to the EU Parliament and EU Council. There was no objection from the institutions, so they enter into force. The delegated acts bind the member states directly, but the member states must enact national laws, which in turn bind the economic actors. In Germany, this is done within the framework of the 37th BImSchV.
